Rainbow

Saw this fine colorful touch between the raindrops just at sunset last week. It did not last very long but was very beautiful.

I've been very lazy today. I read a bit of Isaac's Truck book and will have to resurrect my notes.
Elizabeth made some sauce and pasta. We ate on the deck and watched the neighbors tune up a little tractor and cut some railroad ties up with a chain saw. Now it is very quiet on the deck. John starts a bit of a fire. Kay's has a new bank look. The old railroad ties have been replaced with a very nice looking bank where folks can come by canoe for pizza.

Families of downy woodpeckers come to peck the peanuts and nut hatches grab a few of the sunflower seeds. Sitting outside we can pop the chipmunk with a plastic pellet and discourage her from taking every last seed.

Prairie Home is on the radio. I'm listening and sipping a bit of Nutcracker sweet spicy tea usually appropriate for Christmas. Just heard a bit from the Waylin Jennings, two women who we saw when we were at the jazz festival in Mendocino, California last year.

Isaac just posted a rainbow on his site. So all of this: the book, the rainbow, Prairie Home echo Isaac, and here is a photo of him at the house trying a few casts off the dock.

We had a fine visit with him and with Mary. I showed him how to grill panfish on the barbecue and mine came out pretty good. I need to get some soaked hickory chips for a smokier flavor.

I, too, was listening to the Waylon Jennings on Prairie Home tonight as I grilled salmon. I also grilled vegetables as you inspired me to do. thanks for the great visit.
